I first saw the locals eating this in 2005, on my first trip here. Lin and I were at the Fun fair, but unable to understand the language, and  not really knowing how much it costs, we just watched them eat. This time, Adrian and I spotted another stall selling it, with an English menu. Its basicy a sausage, wrapped in some dough, and with pieces of patatoes on the top, then deep fried. Quite tasty.

If its your first time in Ulaanbaatar, one unique place to visit, not too far from the center of the city is Zaizan. Its a Russian monument on top of a hill, dedicated to the Russian soilders who fought to liberate Mongolia during World Wars 1 & 2. There are about 300 over steps, and in the winter it can be very slippery with the Ice and snow. Be warned once you get up there, its very cold, as Adrian found out

 Each time something official happens in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, we can always see these guys. I used to call them Royal guards in my previous posts, then somebody pointed out there is no King in Mongolia anymore. True. So the proper term would be Honour Guards. They look really fancy in their hats and boots don’t they?

Arrived late last night about 10pm, and since the flight was full it took quite a while to get through Immigration and finally collect my luggage. Got to my hotel, went to sleep straight away, and then woke up about 8:30 this morning. Got breakfast sent to my room, how nice and now I am at my favourite hang out place, Narya Cafe, drinking tea and surfing the web. Before we came here however, took Adrain to the square
