Saigon Secrets : Cao Dai Temple

Sunday, November 25th, 2007

About 120km away from Saigon City, its a province called Tay Ninh where they have a unique religion to this region called Caodaism. Its basically a mixture of Buddhism, Confucianism, Taoism, native Vietnamese spiritualism and a little bit of Catholic and Islam. The temple has been standing since the early 30’s. Its not exactly an exciting experience, but doing it make for some interesting photography. The followers wear White, Yellow, Blue and Red robes, only missing green and there will be all the Uno Colours.

Malaysia, the land of tollorance and peace…NOT

Wednesday, October 31st, 2007

I read the blog posts this morning which horror and dismay. What is happening back home? With Deepavali a meer 7 days away, there seems to be a crackdown on the Hindu’s of Malaysia. Temples are being destroyed by the police. Hindu’s were attacked by the police, having stones hurled at them, and even stabbed. It was reported that the police had orders to shoot unarmed Hindu devotees.

Don’t know what I am talking about? Read this, this, this and this. Sigh? Where is our peace loving leaders? Don’t they know its Visit Malaysia Year 2007? Or does that even matter? The Indians are the poorest people group in Malaysia, always marginalized and now you attack the one thing they hold on to? Their faith? We are becoming a Taliban Nation man!
