Seoul Searching :- Seoul Ice Festival 2008

Monday, January 21st, 2008

While I was in Seoul this January, I manage to catch the 2008 Seoul International Ice Festival, which was located just in front of the City Hall building. It featured many ice sculptures in the most interesting of shapes and sizes. One which really captured my attention was the Ice house complete with the above toilet bowl, sink, computer and bed. Of course they were not fully functioning :P Kids flocked to the fair, mostly to take pictures on the Ice dinosaurs and such. Quite fun I must say.

Seoul Searching :- Autumn Leaves

Thursday, November 8th, 2007

November is a great time to Visit Seoul. The leaves are changing colors, and the place looks soo beautiful. The temperature was between 4 - 10 degrees, the wind just mildly blowing. Do pack a jacket, one that is windproof. A Skaft and some gloves may be a good idea if your one of those who gets cold easily. The tempreture during the day is not so bad, but if your gonna go exploring at night, you will be cold.

JJCM :- Cobaco, Seoul, Korea

Wednesday, November 7th, 2007

After chasing after the parade, we were tired. Dead tired. We felt we didn’t have the energy or time to explore the Palace, opposite the Seoul City Hall, so we decided to just sit down at a restaurant and eat our last korean meal before we headed back to the Airport, to return home. The closest place we could find was this one, called Cobaco. The place was quite full, and that it always a good sign. We ordered a few dishes, with what little Won we had left, the food was not cheap, but not really expensive really. The final bill cost us 15,000 Won.

Seoul Searching :- The Traditional Parade

Wednesday, November 7th, 2007

And then all of the Sudden, the Ceremony we were watching turned into a Parade. Sensing a chance to take some nice photo’s, Adrian and I gave chase. It may sound like an easy job, but with the bags that we were carrying, it was actually very tiring, as these guys really walked fast down the streets of Seoul. They walked from the Tourism building all the way to the Palace opposite City Hall.
