Given the right parameters, even men can help shop for shoes
Thursday, July 10th, 2008Sara needed a new pair of shoes badly. I kinda lost her black shoes when she left them with me over the last year, and she needed something a little more formal for work. Her other shoes where a wea bit to glam for the office, and thus we decided to take advantage of the Sale going on at 1 Utama. Apparently you get free parking every Wednesday for the entire sale period, which was great news for us. Even movies are only Rm7!
Anyways, we tried a few shops, and Sara explained to me what she was looking for, the colour, the style, the height of the heel, the way the shoe latched and such. We saw a few models she liked but alas, they didn’t have one in her size. Finally we arrived at Parkson and since we didn’t have much time before her movie, we split up and looked for a pair. I brought back the above for her inspection, and she loved them. Even the shoe counter girl was surprised to see me shop for shoes. I told the sales rep, can I have this shoe in the smallest size and pass it over to that girl over there.
Sara said , “Darling, your taste not bad. Must bring you shopping with me next time”. And to which I replied ,”Given the right parameters, anything can be done logically”. I am such a techno geek.
5 days and counting…
Monday, June 23rd, 2008There is an excitement in the air for me. I have been waiting for this moment ever since I came back from Australia and every day, brings this day closer and closer. Yes, come Friday, Sara will be back for good! She has finished her 1 year in Australia and we can start our wedding plans. Its a new phase for us! So much to do, so much to prepare, so many things that will change for us. Its so exciting, I really can’t wait. I have been counting down for almost 40 days, and now its down to the last week. On Thursday night I will be driving down to JB, and staying over at Sara’s mums place. On Friday, both mum and myself will drive to Changi airport and pick up Sara, and then we drive back up to Mums place. And then the next day, back to KL. Soo exciting!
Down-Under Dayz : The Autumn Experince
Monday, April 21st, 2008
I love the weather down under at this time of year. Its averaging 22 degrees in the day, and its bright and sunny. You can lie down on the grass in the sun and in any field and not break a sweat. In fact almost everybody here just sits on the grass, or on a bench in the many parks and fields in the city area and just soak in the rays. In the morning, it can be a little chilly if you are not used to it, but its relatively mild compared to other countries with 4 seasons I have visited in the past. Food and drinks outside is expensive! Really expensive! I would suggest that you carry a bottle of water with you everywhere instead of buying one at a Seven-11. A 300ml bottle of water cost AUD3.20!! Thats steep man! Food is not cheap here either! I ate a burger, fries and coke at the “Hungry Jacks”, which is the Ozzie version of Burger King and it cost me AUD8.90. At the time of this posting the exchange rate is 1AUD = 3.32 MYR, so if you want to come for a holiday here, think budget! Actually with the dropping US Dollar, it may be more worth it to go to the States, if a) You can get a Visa, being from Malaysia its not always easy b) If you can afford the flight, cos the distance is greater, and fuel costs are rising and c) If you don’t have somebody you love in Melbourne that you wanna visit. Hehe. So far, Sara and I have been eating sandwiches and trying to make sure we don’t spend more than AUD30 a day, and so far so good, and thats with the occasional glass of wine. Hey, Australia IS wine country!! Its a given! More to report tomorrow.
Ozzie Ozzie Ozzie, Oi Oi Oi
Friday, April 18th, 2008By tomorrow morning, I can add a new flag to my wall of nations, with Australia being the 17th nation I have visited thus far. I hope to make it to 40 in my lifetime, and since I have not been to Europe or Africa yet, I think thats quite possible. I have not even visited all the nations in South East Asia, much less Asia. I know my blogging has been slow lately, but I promise to have allot more to blog about once I reach there. I will be going on a road trip, visiting quite a few places, taking tones of photographs. You know me lah. I will be bringing you a new series called “Down-Under Daze” or “Double D” for short
Do stay tuned for Budget Travel Ideas, Recommended places to Eat and Drink, and just silly stories from the Land of the Roos.
