Photos from cumi&ciki

Sara’s mum and nephew were up here in KL this weekend and we wanted to bring them somewhere nice to eat. Not really sure where to go, Sara decided to bring them to a place her boss sometimes brings clients called Extra Super Tanker in Damansara Kim. The photo’s above are not the dishes we ordered, but were taken by somebody else at this restaurant too.

What we ordered was Wild Boar, Fatty Pork Meat, A Vege, A Special Tofu Dish and a Very nice fish, which was the most expensive Item on the menu. The fish cost us RM110. The rest of the dishes were quite cheap but the food was great!! I loved it.

Mongol Warriors Spotted in the Square

More tradional wear

We worked most of last Saturday, and though the Square was filled with activity, and though we could see it from our window, work required us to concentrate on more urgent matters. I did however manage to help Daren with a few tweaks on his blog. I was very very tired, and then I looked out into the square, and I spotted this guy. He was actually waving his sword directing traffic. I grabbed my camera and zoomed to try to take a picture of that, but the dusty window proved too much interfearance. I did manage however to get a picture of him posing with 2 Mongolian gals.

In other news, today, as I walked in the square after lunch, I saw the beautification process going on. People were planting flowers, cleaning the statue of Shukbatar, and getting ready for Nadaam in July. Then I heard a familiar accent, and I saw a group of young gals, perhaps 16-17 years of age all excited and touristy. The accent was unmistakable, either Malaysian or Singaporian for sure, and I asked them “Where you guys from?”.”Singapore, the reply came”. The 2 gals were on a student exchange thing, and thier hosts were bring them around. I always say, you can hear a Malaysian/Singaporian a mile away. Only we know how to use the “lah” properly.

Mushroom and Vege

Spicy Chicken

Sweet and Sour Beef Balls

My life here is basicly made up of 3 activities. Work, which is a combination of many meetings, paperwork, replying emails and administrative and technical stuff, football and eating. Hence, I am mostly blogging on football and food :) Sorry ah, It does seem to be the main theme of my blog entries these days. Todays dinner was a quick one, but it was rather eventful. There we were, my international team, 2 Chinamen from Shanghai, 2 Indonesians from Jakarta, and little old me from Kuala Lumpur, enjoying our meal, when all of the suddent, the guy behind us gets up and started talking very loudly. I glanced over, and I thought he was pointing at my table and shouting. I was worried, he looked drunked, and I was alittle worried we offended him somehow. When people are drunk, they take offence at so many things. I once had a drunk guy almost hit me for being Indian, lucky his friend stopped him and apologized on his behalf. Anyways, suddenly 4 waitresses come over and talk to him, a long conversation in Mongolian soon proceeded, and finally he was escorted to another room. I then asked the pretty Mongolian waitress who spoke relatively good english, what was going on, and she explained he didn’t want to pay because he had to share a restaurant with us foriegners. I think it was just an excuse, and soon she called the police who sorted the matter out for them. We left, satisfied in our good meal, only to come back to work. Ahh, another day , I slave away.
