Sara and I were craving for some crab! Well Sara was and since she had made such efforts to celebrate my birthday, I wanted her to have something she would love to eat. After realizing Fatty Crab was close on Mondays, we decided to try this place. We have seen it many times along the LDP, and never really tried it, so it was time for another “Jalan Jalan Cari Makan”.

The place was very clean, and had bright colored decorations, very young and trendy, like most of the Hong Kong style restaurants. They had a huge variety of seafood from Snow Crabs to Australian Lobster, but not having a huge budget, we just chose the normal crabs.

We ordered the 2 Crabs Baked with Salted Egg (RM43), 4 Sambal Vege mix (RM12) and fried rice (RM6). The food was good! I loved the crab, and the sauce was finger liking good. The vege was alittle oily, the fried rice good and cheap!!

We discovered the place also serves Tim Sum on weekend mornings, which Sara and I will try one day.

Not far from my office, there is an Indian restaurant which servers pretty decent Chicken Briyani and on Mondays you can get it at 20% discount. Its a pretty big portion, and taste nice. Not too spicy, comes with a boiled egg, but the place is rather pricey. Rm 15++

As me and my co-workers continue of quest for places to eat lunch around our office, today we decided to try the famous Seafood Porridge served at one of the stalls at the coffeeshop right next to UOB bank in State. You know near the MBPJ tower. This porridge comes in few variety, either just fish or the works. We ordered a bowl for 3 people costing RM41.50, which the four of us shared and were more than satisfied. it had Fish, Crab meat, clams and prawns,  very very yummy.

Having tried most of the food in the area of my office, we needed to expand our borders! As one of our collegues, Hendra, is from all the way in Indonesia, we decided to let him try some authentic Malaysian dishes. First on our office hour jalan-jalan cari makan, was the famous Restaurant Satelittle along Jalan Gasing in Petaling Jaya, which is famous for its Ipoh Sytle chicken rice. There are two restaurants next to each other serving the same type of food, at different prices. The more expensive, but slightly cleaner Ipoh Chicken Rice Shop, and then our place, Satelitte. What to eat when you get there? Well, Ipoh Steamed White Chicken of course, served with Bean Sprouts and Pork Ball soup. Its comes highly recomended. A bit hard to get parking at times, and its a little jammed directly after school hours thanks to Catholic High School which is just around the corner from it. For the 4 of us, we paid RM10 each including drinks.

Located not far from the Monorail station is this little gem of a stall, inside Mayflower Seafood Restaurant, is Peter’s Pork Noodles. Costing RM3.50 (small), RM4.00 (small with egg), RM4.50 (big), RM5.00 (big with egg). Its a clear based soup with pieces of pork meat, liver, crunchy pork skin and noodles of your choice. Very tasty, though the big bowl was not big enough for me.
