JJCM :- Street Side Noodles @ Ho Chih Minh Food, Vietnam
Thursday, August 16th, 2007I arrived in HCM alittle after 11am, and by the time I reached my hotel is was alittle after 12pm. Feeling a little pecking and not wanting to eat in the hotel, I decided to do a wea bit of exploring. The area near my hotel is mostly fashion places, with tons of shops and boutiques selling all sorts of apparel from Sexy Lingerie to Beautiful Wedding Dresses. There were a few men’s clothes stores, but mostly for women. I walked along the streets hoping to find something to eat for lunch, other than KFC, which is so not Vietnamese food. There were one or two road side stalls selling roast pork and duck, and a few bakeries, which I was not really into and then finally I found a shop selling some form of Noodles. It looked a little like Wan Tan clear soup noodles, with a huge range of different noodles to choose from. I pointed out what I wanted to eat, and pointed at a bottle of coke, and within minutes, I was tasting the wonderful food. It cost me VND 22,000 , which is about USD 1.30. Not bad actually. Didn’t bring my camera along so took pictures on my camera phone.
