JJCM :- Chola Spice, Pavilion

Wednesday, October 17th, 2007

Wanting to a series on restaurants at the Pavillion, I decided to go there for lunch today, and wouldn’t you know it, there was a new kid on the block among the other new places, and it was Indian food, my favorite food! From the outside this place looked quite tempting though it doesn’t seat many people. More a fast casual dining style then a proper restaurant type of place, ie Don’t bring a girl here for a date.

First look at the menu, and you realize this place is not cheap! There was hardly anything less than RM10, and drinks were not cheap either. You can’t really expect cheap prices at one of the highest end malls in KL now can you? I ordered Mutton Biriyani and  A diet coke.

The portions were ok. Not too small, just right for me actually. The quality of the food? Quite good actually, the rice flavorful, the mutton tender, the vegetables fresh, the papadam crispy. The service by the waiter was professional, and the ambiance, ok.

Diet Coke = RM5.00
Mutton Biriyani = RM18.00
Tax 5% = RM1.15
Total = RM24.15
It was expensive! Thats the only reason its getting  lower rating.

Friday Night at Hazara’s

The Team at Hazara

It was a Friday night, and since we have been working very hard lately, we decided to treat ourselves to some good Indian grub. The shanghai boys, have never tasted real Indian food, and it was about time I exposed the boys to some of my culture. The 5 of us jammed into a taxi, and within minutes we were there. I did the ordering for everybody, and we ate Gosht Jahagiri, Rogan Josh, Ratan Korma, Ala Gobi, Safron Rice and A naan Basket. It sounds like allot, but i think the boys were still hungry after that, even though the meal was kinda expensive. About Rm120 for the 5 of us, because there was 15% VAT at this place. Oh well, it is the weekend after all.

Indian Food in Mongolia

Monday, May 29th, 2006

The great thing about Mongolia is that Indian food is easy to find. Not cheap, but very tasty, and makes a good weekend treat. My favourite Indian place here is Hazzarah, and they serve the best naans around. I’ll let the pictures do the talking.
