It was the Hindu god Ganesha’s birthday yesterday and the two Indian boys that work for us had an event to go to so they left early. They came into today bearing food, mostly Indian sweets. Take a look at the Laddu!

Whats a Laddu? Wikipedia defines Laddu or Laddoo (Hindi: ?????; Urdu: ???) as an Indian, Pakistani,Oriya and Bengali sweet that is often prepared to celebrate festivals or household events such as weddings. It is made of flour and other ingredients formed into balls that are dipped in sugar syrup.
Here are more sweets. Can you name them all?

Just opposite 1 Sentral, the home of PWC in KL, we have one of the best authentic Chettinad foods KL has to offer. This place servers a variety of curries and briyani on Banana leaf at an affordable price. The taste is superb, the quality of food, mouth watering. I strongly recommend this place for lunch

There is a beauty in the Brickfield part of KL, known to some as the little India of Malaysia. Sure its hectic, there are tons of buses that come and go, thanks to the addition of KL Sentral, the central transportation hub of the city, but if you take the time to stop and smell the roses (or Jasmine Flowers), you can see the beauty of the indian culture touching this place. There are the multiple Banana Leaf restaurants, shops selling spices, silverwear and garments from India, and of course the flower vendors.

I read the blog posts this morning which horror and dismay. What is happening back home? With Deepavali a meer 7 days away, there seems to be a crackdown on the Hindu’s of Malaysia. Temples are being destroyed by the police. Hindu’s were attacked by the police, having stones hurled at them, and even stabbed. It was reported that the police had orders to shoot unarmed Hindu devotees.
Don’t know what I am talking about? Read this, this, this and this. Sigh? Where is our peace loving leaders? Don’t they know its Visit Malaysia Year 2007? Or does that even matter? The Indians are the poorest people group in Malaysia, always marginalized and now you attack the one thing they hold on to? Their faith? We are becoming a Taliban Nation man!
