Sembunyi Spa @ Cyberview Lodge Resort & Spa
Monday, September 1st, 2008How did I celebrate Merdeka? Wanting a holiday but not wanting all the hassle of fighting with the rest of Malaysia to either leave the major cities and struggle with the traffic on highways, Sara and I decided to get away somewhere closer to home. She told me to keep Merdeka day free as she had a surprise for me. Where did we go to? Sembunyi Spa at Cyberview Lodge in Cyberjaya. Its a beautiful place offering several different packages for treatments. Firstly when we arrived we explored the area abit. Nice pool, great scenery. Then we went to use the facilities. The men and women have seperate Jacuzzi, Saunas and steam rooms. I did a cycle of dipping myself in the Jacuzzi till I was almost dizzy and then jumping into the cold pool till I was almost freezing several times and it was soo refreshing! Then came the main event. First a balinies massage for 90 minutes, then a full body scrub and finally a soak in milk bath. When I saw Sara after the treatment we compared stories and smelled each other
She looked so radiant and smelled wonderfull. I too looked much fairer and really had a good aroama going. It was not cheap, but its cheaper than flying to say Bali or Phuket to go and enjoy a spa if you calculate airfaire. There was a 50% off for the person you bring package on, so it was worth it.

Final Thoughts On Bangkok
Wednesday, May 3rd, 2006
Bangkok, the land with a Wat Wat here, and Wat Wat There. There a Wat, there a Wat, everywhere a Wat Wat. A land with Seven thousand and Eleven Hundred 7-11’s. Seriously, everywhere you look there was one. Cheap gifts, great food, tons of Tuk-tuk drivers who are more than willing to cheat you of your cash. I loved most of it, except always being harashed by the Tuk-Tuk drivers. That was seriously anoying. Each time I opend my Map, one will come over to you and try and get you to ride with them. Then there is all the offers for “Massage” and “Sexy Lady”. After a while, I didn’t want to leave Khoa San Road (the haven for us Farang’s). I did find the city very morden, and I loved meeting so many interesting people, some of which I hope to keep in touch with for a while to come. All in all, I will return to Thailand, maybe not Bangkok, but definately Thailand, to ChangMai and ChangRai in the North next

The Cave Was Hot
Tuesday, May 2nd, 2006
The Labour day weekend just passed, and I spent it going caving. I was really looking forward to this trip, and the day was not dissapointing. We drove down to Gopeng on Sunday, and spent the night a Adeline’s Guest House (Address bellow). Woke up next morning, had breakfast and by 7:30 we were on our way to the cave, all of us, about 30 people, got on the back of a 2 ton lorry, and were driven through kampung roads, having to duck the incoming leaves and branches. I was glad I wore my helmet as it saved me more than 2 times from branches.

We reached, took a group picture, and we were off into the caves. It was dark, dusty and very hot. I always thought caves were suppose to be cooling, I guess not in Malaysia. When I told my friend I was going caving, her first responce was “Don’t get stuck!”, I see what she meant now. Some of the turnings were narrow, and I bumped my head a few times (helmet handy), but I think since we were all amatures, the guide took us on the easy paths. There were some caverns that were too hard for our skill sets, and we avoided those. The brought us into a great hall in the cave and asked us to turn off all our lights. Pitch Darkness. Somebody kept shouting “Who let the dogs out”, and after 2 minutes the guide said ,”If your lucky you can hear the wind blow, but I guess not today.” Haha. I guess it would have helped if he kept quiet eh?

Up and down a few steep climbs, using a rope at one point, and after about 1 1/2 hours we were out the cave. We entered the cave at ground level, but came up at the top of the mountian, requiring us to make a decent back to the road where the lorry was. It didn’t seem that we climbed that high while in the cave, but once we got out of the cave, boy, it looked different. The climb down the hill was very sliperry, and I fell on my but twice, first time quite gently, the second very hard.
The rest of the day was spent jungle tracking and then a waterfall. No pictures or videos of that, sorry. The water at the waterfall splashing everywhere and didn’t wanna get my camera wet. Somebody had a waterproof one, and once I get them, I’ll post those. Here is a video of our adventure. All pictures available :- here.
