And Yes, If you are a young working adult, and you are in Malaysia, and You have nothing on, Why not Drop by to our Event of the Evening, Get Connected. Its will be a time of fellowship where you can “Network” with people of your age. Its actually a great event, and I wanna go soo badly. For more reasons then I would care to share here
The day today is going slow, I have a big issue to resolve, which I need support from Malaysia, and Guess what? I am the only person working on a Sunday! Hmmm…I wonder why?
Tomorrow is gonna be a really hectic day, where I have Visaâ„¢ Online test schedule with Visaâ„¢ Singapore. If all things go well, we will have completed one stage of the project and I will sleep much better.
My Favorite Vietnamese girl is back from Taiwan, but I have not really spoken to her much. I think she is still mad cos I didn’t reply her emails. I know I get angry when people don’t reply mine, but I can’t really be too friendly with the clients. It may sound strange, but really I can’t. So I keep to myself when I am here. Wish I had friends out of the office like Dora in Indonesia. (Miss You Sharkbait-Huhaha!) If you are reading this. Seriously, you made my Jakarta Experience really memorable :).
Yesterday, I took a walk to the VCD/DVD/CD stall, I see everyday on the way back from work. This shop was pathetic. They did not have any VCD’s or DVD’s worth buying, all Karaoke and Korean/Japanese/Vietnamese Shows. Fortunately they did have a few CD’s. I purchased an Elviss CD for VND 20,000 (RM 4.98, USD 1.30). It would have been a good deal if the CD had worked. I decided that It would take too much effort to go back there and get my money back, especially since it took me like 10 minutes to tell the guy I wanted to buy the CD in the first place.
There are 3 things about Vietnam that really gets to me:
1. The way people stare at me. Seriously, its like they have never seen a Malaysians before. They don’t stare at the White Folks as much as they stare at me.
2. The way the motorbikes and cars keep pressing thier horns. Its sooo noisy. The level of noise polution can drive anybody mad!
3. How nobody has change! The biggest note they have is VND 100,000. I can understand not having change for that. But you give a taxi driver VND 50,000 or even VND 20,000 and he can’t give you change. How do people do business like that?? Seriouslly. I have to store soo much small change in my wallet, that its soo uncomfortable to sit. Oh Vietnam does not have coins. And the smallest note they have is VND200 (Try and convert that into USD) which buys you absolutely nothing.
Tonight Miss Thuy (the Lady Boss) is suppose to take me out for a seafood dinner…Hmmm. I am actually not looking forward to it. Its not really enjoyable having dinner with your Clients. Its hard to explain the feeling, you can’t really be yourself, you have to be extra carefull with your manners. Almost like meeting your girlfriends Parents for the first time. Oh Well… I will report back later on how it went.
