Entertaining, but not quite there. Watched it and though I did manage to finish it on DVD without turning it off out of pure boredom, I was however alittle dissapointed at a few things. Firstly the new Evy changes the dynamics of the first two movies. The relationship between Rick and her lacked the same chemistry we loved in the first 2 movies. Secondly I didn’t like the guy who played the son Alex. If they grew up in England, he would have a british accent, just like he did when he was a kid in the Mummy returns. He just didn’t do a good enough job playing the son of Rick. And finally I was upset by how the Dragon Emperor died way too easily. The fight sequence should have involved the fallen first emperor! And there should have been more love scenes between him and Michelle Yeoh, after all she was morning him for 2000 years!!
The plus sides? Michelle Yeow rocked in the show! The effects were not bad, they didn’t reuse the Face in the Sand and Face in the Water thing. They had Yetis which was cool and of course I loved Jonathan, though I think the movie should have ended with him moving to Shangrilla and staying there. He always seems to have the worse of the happy endings!
All in all, its a DVD movie to chase a way the boredom. I give it a 6.4 / 10.0

Early this morning I visited my dentist to get the stitches from my wisdom tooth removal last week. My Doctor says its healing well, and though there will still be a hole in my jaw for another 1 month before the would fully heals, unless it really hurts, it should be ok. I am just suppose to take extra precautions when eating to make sure nothing gets stuck inside there. So I’ll be chewing most of my food on the right side for a while longer. All in all, I am good. No more swelling, just a little tingling sensation every now and then. its all good.

Sara had a shirt tailor made from the cloth we had bought when we were in Saigon last year at a place in Bangsar called Lord’s Tailor. I had one made too, and it fits me like a charm. These guys are really professional and pay very good attention to detail. I think if you bring your own cloth they charge Rm150 for workmenship, but I think its very worth it for the quality of shirts you get made.

Sigh. I just spent close to 1 1/2 hours on the road trying to get to work. The traffic was horrendous! At one particular toll both, my car stood stationary for almost 20 minutes and I was at the SmartTag lane, which was suppose to be the “Fast Lane”. What caused all the jams? Well, a few reasons. One would be the number of cars on the road at rush hour. With public transport being the horror it is, and not enough alternative ways to get out of main suburbs such as Cheras, people are left with no alternatives but to drive. If only our government had the foresight to build better subways instead of spending money on stupid mega projects and white elephants like sending tourist to space.
Other issues like the way our highways are built are another source of problem. 10 lanes merge into 2 lanes, all sorts of funny exists and entrances from major highways and all highways going back into the Federal highway. All these things caused massive jams. With no foresight given to those who planned the city, it seems like KLites are doomed to suffer traffic jams.
Do you forsee a day where KL would be an Olympic City? I doubt we would ever have that honour as we cant even handle day to day traffic much less the influx of tourist. Why can’t there be more traffic police making sure cars stay to the correct lanes and not cheat and jump queues on the road? Why can’t we demolish older buildings and widen all major roads. Why can’t the Putra line go into more suburbs?
Sigh. KL seems doomed. Don’t even get me started on the traffic when it rains.

Celebrated yet another birthday at our office today with a Raspberry Cheese Cake from Secret Recipe. Not much choices for cakes in the Brickfields area, but the cake was good! There goes my diet
