Its the time of year again to stand proud, fly your flag high and proud and shout “Merdeka! Merdeka! Merdeka!!”

Getting Nathan to drink water used to be a nightmare, but that is no longer the case. Now he loves to drink water! In a hot country like Malaysia, we are always afraid that Nathan will get dehydrated, especially if we are out in the sun for hours. Lately, he wants to drink anything his daddy is drinking, and loves to show me that he can handle his own bottle [Photos taken using Nokia E-5]

I saw these Pram accessories at a baby shop that day, and I could not resist. I had to pimp up Nathan’s ride. Check it out. He has a custom steering wheel, with a doggy horn, a mobile phone holder, with mobile phone, and of course a Turbo meter, which is actually just a clock! Baby Zheng My Car!

We have two cars, and living in an apartment, where you need to take the elevator up and down, and with different people picking Nathan up on different occasions, we decided we really needed to have 2 strollers, one for each car. Last Saturday, Sara and I went shopping, and found one that we both liked. It has bigger wheels, perfect for the park, and Nathan can sit up and watch the world! It was on sale as well!

Sara’s 1st day with the Nokia e-5 was pretty good. She managed to set up her business email quiet easily, and she liked the speed of the phone. It didn’t lag as much as her previous e-63. Her one complain though was the lack of serious business apps support, namely “Bloomberg anywhere”. Her company pays for the use of this service, and currently the only phones that support this app are the blackberry and iphone. If Nokia wants to be taken seriously as a business phone, it definitely needs to buck up in this area.

I also noticed the lack of support for apps such as Foursquare quite disappointing. Another thing I am a little disappointed in, is the lack of geotagging photos taken from the Nokia. I mean, it does have a gps in-built, why not just geotag the photos?

All, in all, for a phone worth RM8XX, we find it packed with good enough features, though still not as business friendly as we would like to see, especially if they want to give Blackberry a run for their money.

Malaysia
In all, 21 areas are banned, including hospitals/clinics, airports, public lifts and toilets, air-conditioned restaurants, public transport, government premises, educational institutions, petrol stations, Internet cafes, shopping complexes and private office spaces with central air-conditioning. However, enforcement is an issue, and the government plans to get tougher on offenders.
Starting 1 June 2010, it is an offence to smoke at private office spaces with central air-conditioning. People who violating the rules can be fined of up to RM10,000 (US$3,333), or two years of imprisonment.

I was at an event there on Wednesday, seated in doors in an air-conditioned restaurant and there was a table of smokers next to me. I complained to Syahrul Azlie (chinoz_gdns@chinoz.com.my) about it and he refused to do anything, even though he knew it was against the law. I told him frankly, I will be making the relevant complaints, and I am not to be messed with. It really upsets me when people fail to follow the laws of the country.

If you want to smoke, go outside! In an air-conditioned restaurant, the smoke is distributed to everybody, and I for one do not what my kids to die of cancer! Anyways, I have written to the Ministry of health! The next time I see this happen, I think I will make a police report!
