London Calling :- Summer is over

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

I have been blessed with extremly good weather every weekend I have been here thus far, but alas, summertime is over! Yesterday the sky was blue but the wind was gusting away, and the whole morning thus far, it has been raining non stop, with only gray skies predicted on the weather for days to come. I brought my brolly to work today, after leaving it at home for the last 2 weeks. Discovered there is a small hole at the sole of my right shoe, as while walking to work today, with the rain everywhere, all of a sudden, I have a wet right foot. Sigh. It makes you feel really uncomfortable the whole day. Didn’t go out for lunch today, just bought a sandwich and coke from the shop next to the office. Will try and buy a new pair of shoes on Thursday perhaps as thats when the shops stay open later instead of shutting at 5pm, not giving the average Joe office a chance to shop at all.

Things have been busy at work, with allot of things to be done, that we have not really explored much after work. Seems like as soon as office hours are over, we take the train home, cook and watch tv and unwind. Alot of the attractions and things close at 6pm and therefore we will probably wait till the weekend to do more exploring. Planing to visit my cuz Suzy who lives in Leicester this weekend, so lets see how that turns out. Well, thats a small update from me. Back to work

London Calling :- Dinner with the Hunters

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

I met Chrissy years ago when I worked in Hong Kong for a project for a previous company, and the last time I saw her was years ago, when she came to Malaysia for a holiday with her group of friends. She has since gotten married and lives in London, England with her hubby, and I was invited over for dinner at her place somwhere in Zone 2 of London. It was awesome fun just hanging out, checking out her wedding photos and catching up :) Its great to have friends everywhere.

Tango in Paris :- Street Performers

Sunday, September 28th, 2008

Just like London, Paris too has many a street performer. There are random people who board the trains and play the Saxaphone or Guitar, and some of them are really really good. While in Paris, I managed to witness two mimes, who were just plain amazing. They really got into the role and stood still for what seemed like hours, and then burst into movement. The one pictured above played the flute quite well too. Check out the photos bellow :)

While walking around the Notre-Dame area, we walked passed the Police Station and just behind it, there was this display going on by the Police, where they let the public see the old cars and motorbikes used by them and the fire bridage through the years. Quite nice actually. I love looking at old cars. Not sure how long there will be there, but try and see.
