While walking around the Notre-Dame area, we walked passed the Police Station and just behind it, there was this display going on by the Police, where they let the public see the old cars and motorbikes used by them and the fire bridage through the years. Quite nice actually. I love looking at old cars. Not sure how long there will be there, but try and see.

KenariKenariKenariChanging

It was time to change them. They were getting rather thin and it caused the car to have problems breaking when it was rainy. We got Yokohama tyres @ RM155 each, and then we had to add the thing where you inflate the tyres at, the vavle. And then balancing and also having to add 2 bolt thingy that they needed. As you can see I am not the most technical of people and the car terms are always wrong. hehe. The bill came up to about RM700. DId I pay too much?

I got my road tax rebate!!

Wednesday, August 13th, 2008

It was painless and quick, well not super quick, but quick enough. There were no long forms that you had to fill in triplicate, no rare documents which you had to request from the bank such as the grant to your car. All you had to do is bring your IC and fill in a simple form. They don’t even need your road tax receipt. Woohoo! Thanks Daren for the advice. I had to wait maybe 14 minutes at the post office in brickfields because it was lunch hour, but other than that, it went smoothly. They asked for my IC, the form, took a thumbprint, and gave me RM625 in cash. I am a happy man.

My SX4 SedanMy SX4 Sedan

Yeah! See how shiny my baby is! I drove to a mall, as there was no parking, and my SX4 needed a bath after the rain and sand that got on it, I decided to go and get it done. The shop offered me a one year membership thing, which gives me cheaper car washes and stuff like that. So I signed up. I decided I needed to protect the paint while its still new, afterall prevention is better than cure right? :)

My Suzuki SX4 Sedan

Yesterday afternoon, my car dealer called me at 3:30pm and said those magic words ,”Your Car Is Ready For Collection”.  I was exited. I earlier had planned with Sara and Big J that if the car was ready on Thursday, we drive up to Gentings that night for opening ceramony. I called J, and he asked me “Is it on?”, and I said “On”. Sadly, though I did collect my wonderful new car, we didn’t go up to Gentings last night because it had been raining all day there were massive jams everywhere. Sara and I decided we were too tired after driving through the jams.

Anyhoo, here is the first look at my new car

Keys

The keys come with a two button alarm and imobalizer. The first time you press the unlock button, only the drivers side door is unlocked, the second press unlocks all doors. The other button is to lock and initiate panic mode.

Dashbpard

The dash board used a lovely red tone for a more sporty look, with digital odometer, RPM, speedometer and the usual fuel gauge and temperature gauge.

Gears

The automatic gear shift is a unique design, which is very easy to use. Me like it ver much :)

Audio System

The built in CD/MP3 player with 8 speakers provides ok sound quality. I do wish the song titles would scroll and there was a random button, but it will do.

Outside Tempreture

The special travel info display shows a clock, the outside tempreture as well as a fuel consumtion guage which gives you an indication how far longer you can travel.

Drivers Seat

The stearing wheel comes with audio controller allowing you to easily choose the tunes you wanna listen to while driving. There are drink holders and a glove compartment which I think could be a little bigger. Now the outside.

Front

The front nice right? Fierce! And yes, I realized I stuck the SmartTag holder not straight, but by the time I wanted to change it, the 3M thing was already solidly sealed.

Rear View

The rear looks good too, and there is plenty of space in the boot! Even Big J says he can fit in there :)

All in all, the car provides a very quiet drive. Good on corners, and its definately more power than my old iswara or Sara’s Kenari. My cars name? Its Sexy :) Hehe. SX4 mah, Sexy loh.
