Shame on you Malaysian police. “Just doing my job”, says the Police man. News for you, the Police job is “To Serve and Protect”, not to harass. You want to do your job? Go find the killers and rapist our there. Go catch the snatch thief out there.
I am home in Malaysia, after being away for a month in Vietnam. On the first morning after my return, I thought I would have nothing to rant about in Malaysia, but sadly I was mistaken. Sara and I left the house at 745am, thinking that on a School holiday weekday, even though it was a public holiday in the state of Selangor where we live, the journey to the city would have been smooth. I start work at 9:00am, and Sara had a appointment in the same area at 9:30am. So, it was all dandy, right? WRONG! 30 minutes after leaving our home, we were less than 2 km’s away! It took us one hour to get from SS4 to Eastin Hotel! We heard on the Radio that all roads to KL were jammed. In fact the DJ Said , “If you wanna go to the city, Take Public Transport or Delay your Journey, or Try again tomorrow”. I was wondering what the traffic Jam was all about? Then I saw it, a police road block. The cops had shut down half the road, and they were not even inspecting cars!! If it was a security treat and they actually checked the cars passing by I would be ok. If they even looked at the cars, I would be ok. They were looking everywhere except the road, taking to each other, smoking, drinking coffee, everything but doing their Jobs! Sigh, this is the TRUE face of Malaysian police.
Oh, forgot to add that I finally arrived in my office at 9:45am, a full 2 hours after I left PJ, a journey which usually only takes 35 minutes. Even my flight back from Vietnam was shorter. Thank you Police DiRaja Malaysia, for the totally useless services rendered. Oh by the way, have you found the time to find the Criminals out there? If I am not mistakes there are still many unsolved crimes like murderers of innocent children….
This is the face of Malaysian democracy. I have never felt so ashamed of Malaysia as I do today. Local newspapers claim that the Police were forced to fire tear gas or water canons, and the crowd was violent, but photos and videos from Eye witness all over the internet and also on International TV shows a very different situation. Lies and more lies from our Policemen. Are you not ashamed of them? Do they have no honor? How do they sleep at night? How does Sammy Velu sleep at night?
