Reunited and it feels so good

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

Sara arrives in London today! I am so excited. I miss her so much! I mean, I missed her allot when she was in Australia, but back then I travelled allot for work, so I guess I didn’t feel it as much. Now things just seem different. 7 weeks seems like a lifetime. Even though I have been keeping busy with work and travelling loads of places, I miss her like crazy. In less than 8 hours, I will be able to hold her :) Miss you so much baby!!

Given the right parameters, even men can help shop for shoes

Sara's New Shoes

Sara needed a new pair of shoes badly. I kinda lost her black shoes when she left them with me over the last year, and she needed something a little more formal for work. Her other shoes where a wea bit to glam for the office, and thus we decided to take advantage of the Sale going on at 1 Utama. Apparently you get free parking every Wednesday for the entire sale period, which was great news for us. Even movies are only Rm7!

Anyways, we tried a few shops, and Sara explained to me what she was looking for, the colour, the style, the height of the heel, the way the shoe latched and such. We saw a few models she liked but alas, they didn’t have one in her size. Finally we arrived at Parkson and since we didn’t have much time before her movie, we split up and looked for a pair. I brought back the above for her inspection, and she loved them. Even the shoe counter girl was surprised to see me shop for shoes. I told the sales rep, can I have this shoe in the smallest size and pass it over to that girl over there.

Sara said , “Darling, your taste not bad. Must bring you shopping with me next time”. And to which I replied ,”Given the right parameters, anything can be done logically”. I am such a techno geek.

Of Weekend Dating Places

Is it just me, but there is actually very few places left in KL to go on a weekend date that is not

a) Too hot
b) Too Crowded and hard to find ample parking
c) Too expensive and causes you to blow all your budget?

I mean maybe I am just getting old, but the idea of hanging out in a Mall for a date, just seems to commercial! What do you guys do? Any ideas? Sara and I spend the afternoon at Starbucks, reading magazines and sipping coffee. Not in a mall, but rather in Section 14 opposite the Toyota showroom. A nice quiet place :)

Of Cremations and the journey into Singapore…

Tuesday, July 1st, 2008

Early friday morning I woke up and drove Sara’s mum and her sister to the family house where the uncle’s casket was. There was the Taoist rituals being done, and Sara’s sister didn’t want her 3 kids to see them move the coffin, as such, it was my responsibility to entertain the 3 kids. There was Jonathan 8, Anderson 6 and Rikka 4. It was quite a handful, as I tried to walk around with them. I finally decided to take them on a drive around the Park, until it was time to move the coffin. When the funeral home people moved the coffin, I was told to turn away from it, and every body else did the same. This confused me. I asked my Taoist friends and they also didn’t know the reason, but I did it in respect. We then drove to the cremation center in Sungai Tiram, and they had a brief ceremony and then the casket was put into the burner, again, everybody had to look away.

By the time we got back to Sara’s mums place, I was dead tired, it was almost 4pm. I took a short nap and by 6:30 we left the house and headed into Singapore. There was a massive crawl at the checkpoint and it took us 2 hours to finaly cross into Singapore and get to a Sara’s aunties house where we rested for a while, and then it was straight to Changi Airport. The trusty GPS got me there easily and as we parked I was worried I didn’t have enough Singapore Dollars in my Cash-Card.

Sara’s mum and I waited patiently and then after a brief few moments Sara appeared and my heart was overjoyed! Finally my baby was home!! When it was time to leave the Airport, I realized I calculated the parking rate wrongly and I had more than enough cash! Woohoo! We drove back and it took us 3 HOURS!! Yes, 3 HOURS. There was a massive jam at the border because the cops checked each and every car, opening everything! It was a torture. They Singapore police are so embarrassed that they let that terrorist walk out of jail, that they have to look like they were serious to make sure he will be caught, though I think he is in a cave somewhere with Bil Laden drinking coffee. We finally made it home by 1am and we were so tired we all just fell asleep.
