Bangkok in Ulaanbaatar….

It was a cold windy evening, and we were a little homesick for some good old fashion tom yam soup. Our search for a cure brought us to Bangkok, a small Thai restaurant near the bank where we work. All in all, it was a disappointment. The food was way way to expensive, even our meal at the Mongolian BBQ was cheaper. Don’t think we will go back there anytime soon.

No trip to Mongolia would be complete without experiencing one of best Food this nation has to offer, the famous Mongolian BBQ. And since it was Chu-Chu’s last day in UB, we decided to take him there. It was a cold day, and we walked and walked, not exactly sure where this so called restaurant was located. We asked like 3 different people, and finally we found it.

Then came lunch

Friday, September 9th, 2005

Stomach was growling at me, “Eat Nick, Eat!”. You get hungry fast here, especially on cold days, and today it was 8 Degrees according to my weather pixie. The clock struck twelve, and my belly kept calling out for nutrition. “Feed Me, Feed ME!”. I suspect the guys heard the noises that were emitted and suggested we go eat. We rushed to the 5th floor cafeteria where I rejoiced to see that today’s lunch had nothing to do with Milk! Yesterday we are Milk Porridge, and I am a little lactose intolerant. I ended up eating 3 dumplings and bread. Today it was all good. I sat and within minutes the food laid in front of me dwelled in my digestive track, headed towards its new home. The bank staff was actually amazed that I could drink the soup, because the taste of mutton was exceptionally strong. I came, I ate, and It was good :)
