Scotland :- The Journey There
October 23rd, 2008 by Nick Tay
I was excited. Very Excited. I had not seen my brother Joe for close to two years since my sisters wedding, and even then, it was just a few days and we didn’t really get to do a lot of things together. This time it would be in his home, and we would really get a change to bond. I boarded my train at Kings Cross at 6:20pm, and to my supprise there was a name on my chair with the words “Reserved” and then “Nicholes Tay”. The other chairs didn’t have this, they just had the words “Reserved”, but no name. Wow. I felt so proud! hehe. The first leg of my journey was to Newcastle and it went smoothly, nothing really exciting happened. There was this one lady with 2 kids who got into a little bit of trouble with the train staff because she had her seat reservation card, but not her travel ticket, but I think they solved it by calling the ticketing agent and got the ticket number.
The next leg from Newcastle to Edinburgh was even cooler as my name Nicholes Tay was in flashing lights on the LCD display above my seat, while the others only said “Reserved”. My attempts to take picture of this didn’t work. hehe. On Well. There was a group of rowdy teenage British girls who talked very loudly and singing away causing my not to get much rest, so I moved away from my reserved seat and found an empty one in another cabin.
By 11:30pm, I reached Edinburg and my brother Joe and Allan were there with their dog Ollie! We drove back to their place, and went to sleep

Sounds like a fairly uneventful trip - just the kind I prefer. Nothing like arriving safely at your destination with no worries in between.
