Tango in Paris :- Louvre
September 23rd, 2008 by Nick Tay

The Louvre Museum (French: Musée du Louvre), located in Paris, France, is the world’s most visited art museum, a historic monument, and a national museum of France. It is a central landmark in Paris, and is located on the Right Bank of the Seine in the neighborhood of the 1st arrondissement. The collection has roughly 35,000 pieces on display, which are exhibited over 60,000 square metres (650,000 sq ft).
The first thing we did the morning we arrived after having a nice breakfast at my cousins place was to visit the Lourve. I mean, who could come to Paris and not see the Monna Lisa right? We took the metro line which stopped right bellow the museum, bought our tickets costing 9 Euro each, and within minutes where inside. The queue was short because school holidays are over, as during summer breaks I hear the line takes forever. We entered the building, and though there were signs saying no photography, everybody was taking pictures, and so I did too. The building was huge, broken down to many sections and it took us a while to understand the map and find the Monna Lisa, but finally we did.

The famous smile was nice, however, its not the nicest piece of painting in the Lourve, and if you do come and visit, take the time to see as much as you can. The Egyptian relics are amazing, the other paintings beautiful and the Lourve itself, with its beautiful architecture is a site to see. Definately worth the better part of a morning, but don’t over do it. If here for a weekend, spend a good 2-3 hours max. Here are some more photo’s for your viewing pleasure.

i still remembered the very first time i laid my eyes on the Lourve, i was so amaze with the architecture and the beauty of the glass pyramid. i think i could spend hours juz looking at the glass pyramid without entering the museum itself.
