SQ Staff Rock!
March 20th, 2008 by Nick Tay
I was not feeling 100% on my recent flights to and from Lahore via Singapore, and flying on Singapore Airlines, I must say, their staff are truely amazing. They noticed I was not well and gave me special attention! There was this gentleman who gave me some medication for my stomach flue and this other lady who made sure I was comfortable, making sure I always had enough liquids and was ok. And I was only flying economy, I wonder what it would have been like if I was in business. I didn’t get the meal choice I wanted, but that didn’t seem to matter as a) I couldn’t really eat anything and b) they made sure I had a more suitable alternative. In the grand scheme of airlines, MAS (Malaysian Airlines), is gonna need to buck up, if they want to be competitive in this region man.
I watched Dora the explorer on Krisworld on the flight, as I had watched almost every other movie already, with my busy travel schedule this past 2 months, and I actually enjoyed the show, though it irritated me that Dora expected us to help her with everything! Can’t this girl do anything on her own? Haha. Yes, I know the show is for kids from ages 4-8, but after you watched every other show already, you are desperate.
The taxi ride from KLIA back to my house was interest to say the least. My taxi driver, a Malaysian Indian, told me stories of the adventures he had on the job. The one that made me laugh the most happen a year ago, according to him. He was on the way back from KLIA to his home, on the Highway and there was a lorry carrying cages of chickens in front of him. This particular lorry driver didn’t secure the cages on his vehicle well and one of the cages flew off the lorry hitting poor drivermans car, causing about 1k in damages to his front bumper and lights. The 7 chickens survived the crash, but not my driver, as he smiled and said, “I had curry chicken for a week”.
