First Christmas Together
January 7th, 2008 by Nick Tay
Sara blogged about me rejecting my Christmas gift, and I must admit, when Sara told me the gift she got me was very very personal, I thought it was something like Underwear or something else, and of course I would have been extremely shy to open it in front of her family members. Then came Christmas Day, and while everybody was opening gifts, I slowly opened mine and to my joy and delight, it was indeed something very personal. It was a very beautiful silver pen engraved with the Words, “Nick Sara”, and Sara smiled as she said, “I want you to always use this Pen. Use it to sign your name on our wedding registration, use it to sign your name on our childs birth certificate, use it forever.”
All of a sudden my practical gift of a flask, seemed rather non-personal, though Sara says she loves it, cos she drinks lots of coffee and she lost her flask in the Library a few months ago.
The other family members opened their gifts and we sat back and witnessed as the nephews and nieces, were a little disappointed they only got Books and clothes. Hehe
