Saigon Secrets : National Fine Art Museum, HCMC, Vietnam

December 8th, 2007 by Sara Foo

This is perhaps one of the humblest art museums I have ever visited. The museum is nested in an old French colonial building. Very quiet and the collections aren’t many. Including me, may be total patrons were only 5 persons. There are three levels of exhibitions hall. The first level, the museum rented it out for public exhibition, whereas the second and third level exhibits the museum’s own collections. The museum has a very Vietnamese style “outdoor” café which serve only drinks. I was hungry and the tea auntie was kind enough to cook me her own lunch, a pack of instant noodles!
