Day 1 in HCM, Vietnam
July 25th, 2007 by Nick Tay
I think when it comes to flights, I am somehow doomed. Yes, flight to Ho Chih Minh, was delayed. Not by much though, only 35 minutes. My boss got us into the Singapore Airlines lounge, and we had breakfast there, and then we boarded the plane.
I got a nice seat, way way at the back of the plane, then came some moron, who nicely took out my baggage from the overhead cabin to make space for his. He man-handled my laptop bag, and tied to stuff it into the overhead compartment several times unsucessfully. And Airlines stewardess came and asked him to put my bag bellow his chair, and then I told her that it was my bag and this man had no business moving it. She spoke to the man, and settled the issue. Sigh.
We arrived, and then the immigration people took forever for me. They kept looking at my passport, touching it, scanning it, looking at it under the UV light. I was the last person to go through immigration, almost 15 minutes. The lady spoke no English, and when I asked whats wrong, she said “No Problem”, but she called her supervisor. The supervisor asked for my air ticket, and asked me when I was returning to Malaysia, but didn’t say what was wrong with my passport. Sigh.
Got to the hotel, quick stop, then headed to the clients place where it was meetings after meetings. Now back at the hotel which as free internet only at the business center, where I am now. Gonna have dinner, and then rest. Photos bellow.
