Charlotte’s Web 2006 :- The Review
June 22nd, 2007 by Nick Tay
When I heard there was going to me a live action movie on this lovely story, I was ecstatic. I had remember watching the 1973 animated version on then SBC 5 (Singapore Broadcasting Corporation), back one school holiday when I was no more than 15 I am sure. And I remember crying when Charlotte the spider died. It was a story that captured my heart, and I am glad to say this 2006 remake did do it justice. The spider (voiced by Julia Roberts) was very well done, and she encaptured the grace and beauty I remembered from the first animated movie. There were a few changes like the fact Jeffery the gooseling was missing or that they added new characters in the form of the two crows. Dakota Fanning was also very spunky in her playing of Fern. A must watch for those with kids. I think they will love it.

I also loved the animated 1973 version, I watched it for the first time when I was much younger, sometime in the 80s. I wasn’t sure that a live action movie was a good idea but since you gave it a positive review I’m thinking it should be worth the watch. I’m putting it on my to-watch list.
