Of Cheese and Wine…

We had a company function last night, at the Westin KL. It was a informal chit-chat kinda thing, where the served light snacks and a variety of different beverages Red Wine, White Wine, Beer and Orange Juice. At first I moved to sit with a few of the staff sitting at one of the table, and they suddenly all moved and sat somewhere else. The got up to get more food, and then sat instead on the table next to mine. I would have felt all lonely and sad, but I didn’t really care. And then one of the senior managers came and sat with me, and we talked shop for a while. One by one most of the staff left, till it was just me, my boss and a few of the senior manages. The VP then ordered a Cheese Tray, and how could I resist cheese. We talked about Malaysian politics, Singaporean politics, recent events, everything under the sun that adults would talk about, and then I go and screw it up. I brought up Wallace and Gromit, and how Wallace enjoyed Cheese. The VP was the only one who knew what I was talking about being a Brit, the rest were a wea bit out of place I must say. Felt a little awkward innit? I guess not everybody appreciates the beauty of claymation.
