I was watching the Colberg Report on Comedy Central this morning, and it was a very interesting show. This one lady was on the show saying that Barack Obama should not be considered black, cos his dad migrated to the USA from Africa, and thus he is African African American. According to her, to be truely black you have to be the decendents of freed Slaves. My Cobert was amazingly funny though, especially when he said “So you are not judging him by the colour of his skin, but the content of his character, into a whole new level”. I seriously wonder if Martin Luther King was alive, what would he say? Correct me if I am wrong, but I doubt there are any African Americans in America, who still have living relatives who were slaves. How much different could thier lives be. I mean, even two African American decedents of slaves, one born to a rich family in Bel Air, and the other in New Orleans, obviously have different lives. Yet, aren’t they both black? I consulted my black friend and she said this, “Africans are black too, plain and simple. If any thing they are “blacker” than afican americans because it’s quite obvious most black people in North America have been mixed somewhere down the line.” I really can’t understand that womans arguement on the Colberg report, but I loved how my hero Stephen Colberg did the interview, cracked me up man.
