Back in the airport I hate…
November 15th, 2006 by Nick Tay
Yes, my CA972 flight has arrived in Capitol Airport Beijing. The flight here was quite good all things considered. I manage to change seat to an empty row, and just lay down and sleep the entire flight. I got up a few times, but before I knew it, they were annuncing the arival at Beijing. When I first started this Job and needed to fly, I couldn’t sleep in an airplane, boy has that changed. Now I can sleep anywhere! Well, not anywhere, but I can sleep in a plane if I tire myself out enough, which is good, cos I arrive at the clients place refreshed and ready for work.
Remember when I said I never had a happy visit to this crappy airport, well today is the same. The transit counter had 6 staff there, but only one working. After standing there for like 10 minutes without being serviced, I finally said in Mandrin, “Wow, six of you here, doing one persons work. Issn’t China great?”, and the supervisor finally got the hint and processed my boarding pass. The imigration guy was another moron, kept issiting that I needed to fill in the China visa information as I had one, but I kept reminding him I wasn’t entering China, just transiting to get to Mongolia. After 10 minutes, he finally stamped my passport and here I am waiting for my next flight that boards in the next hour.
My only pleasure here is the Dinners Club lounge where I get free drinks and snacks, and use of internet….More when I arrive in UB.
