When it pays to know the bank directors…

October 31st, 2006 by Nick Tay

I went to change my USD to MNT as I have done a few times in the Banking Lounge they have in building connected to mine. You see I work in the main branch, which is purely offices and nothing else. There is however a building connected to us, which has a front end banking services and many times in the past I changed my USD to the local currency to eat dinner and pay for other things one pays for when one works/lives in a forigen country. Today however, when I wanted to change money, the lady there said “No”. She told me the facility was only for the customers of the bank. I told her I was a customer of the bank, and showed her my Bank Card, but she said I still couldn’t change money. Furstrated, I went to look for the Director of Back Offices, who manages all the Branches, and told her my dilema. She followed me to the particular branch, since it was connected to the building we worked in, and talked to the girl who rejected me. Only then did I see a makeshift sign on the door which said “Premier Banking”, and I realized what the girl was trying to tell me. No matter, the Director overruled her, and told her that she should reconize me, cos I work for the bank as one of thier Consultants, and he should be allowed to Change his money here. Hurrah! I guess I do get some perks…

On this day in History..
