What happens when the person you have feelings for turns you down and just wants to “be friends”?

Here are 3 things you can do:

1. Throw yourself a big pity party
If you’re wondering huh!…why pity yourself? Well, we’re human with emotions. When someone we like does not feel the same way, it is normal to feel down and sad. You should have one last cry over him. Allow yourself to vent out your disappointments and frustrations. But remember, after the pity party is over, pick yourself up and move on. Close that chapter of your life and trust God will see you through.

2. Make less contact
This would be something hard to do for many. If the guy is a close friend and you share the same circle of friends, this will be a tough call. Try to avoid chatting on the phone or sms-ing as you’re just leading yourself on that things might change if you hung on. Stay away from places you know you can accidentally ‘bump’ into him. I’m not saying avoid him as if he was a plague, but give yourself time to heal. Less contact will help take your mind of him.

3. Choice
It’s really a choice to get over someone. Sure, you mind will occasionally think about the person but you must remember, you are in control of your mind. Try to snap yourself out of the habit of constantly dwelling on that person. Just remind yourself, that feeling will eventually go away as long as you work hard to keep it at bay.

On this day in History..

There is no such thing as just being friends with someone you’re attracted to. Stop wasting your time. Find someone even better who likes you as well.

At first you’ll probably pretend to move on, still hoping that person will change their mind and want you. But they seldom do change their minds. If they ever do, it’s not until you’ve REALLY moved on and don’t want them anymore :D

    its a tough call.

everyone needs so much to understand that we were never EVER meant to control other people’s feelings/opinions in life anyway.

we are called to control our own emotions, our own actions, our own desires and our own will. not others…

    ;)
    God bless!
