The Bus ride back and the wedding rehersal….
October 5th, 2006 by Nick Tay
I left Singapore that morning with a grin on my face. The impact of spending time with my 5 aunts, Dora, Eric and the Weekend with Mark and Felicia was still affecting me, so much so that the 5 hour journey seemed to pass in a blink of the eye. I even finish reading the book Dora gave me, the “The Sky is Crazy, Tales from a Trolley Dolley”, A book written by a former air stewardess with an international carrier shares some of her favourite anecdotes about life 35000 feet up in the air.

I reached home and just as I was gonna relax, my sister , no doubt nervous about the wedding, kept reminding me about the rehersal. She asked me to get to church at 5:00pm, and when I arrived early, I notice there still was Mass going on at SFX. I asked Laurent what time the rehersal was, and he said 5:30, my sister just didn’t want me to be late. Have I ever been late? I am famous for being ontime and early, but my sister was allowed that. She is the bride and she wants her wedding to be perfect.
I waited a while longer and the bridesmaids, flower girls and the father of the ring bearer arrived. We praciticed the wedding march, under the ever watchful eye of Linda, my sisters wedding planner. I guess I didn’t realize how the walking down the eisle would feel, and then it suddenly came to me. I was all nervous and proud, and this was only the rehersal. I began to feel excited for my sister and I was seriously filled with so much joy that I had tears in my eyes.
This was only the rehersal……next the real thing…..
