The Laws of the harvest…

I remember my Senior Pastor once preached on this. I didn’t come up with them myself. There are some Laws, and they are unbrakeable. They go something like this…
1) We Reap Only What Has Been Sown
Meaning basicly everything that happends now is not a random thing. We are in situations either good or bad, due to somebody’s actions in the past. Here is an example, somebody planted an apple tree, and because of that you have an apple. An apple doesn’t just appear out of no where. In the same sence whatever we do has consequences.
2) We Reap the Same In Kind As We Sow
Meaning basicly, if you plant an apple seed, you get an apple tree which produces apples. You won’t be getting oranges from that tree! So if we sow kindness, we reap kindness.
3) We Reap in a Different Season than We Sow
Meaning, you have to wait awhile before you get to see the results. No matter what you plan, it takes time. Different seeds produce at different rate, if you plant bean sprouts, it may take only days. If you plant an appletree, be prepared to wait a few years before you get apples!!
4) We Reap More Than We Sow
Meaning, if I plant one apple seed, the tree will produce more than one apple!
5) We Reap In Proportion to What We Sow
If you plant one appleseed, you only get 1 apple tree! If you plant 5 apple seeds, you will get 5 apple trees.
6) We Reap the Full Harvest of the Good Only if We Persevere; The Evil Comes to Harvest on Its Own
This one is alittle hard to accept, but let me put it this way. You plant the appleseed, you need to water the fella. You need to put fertiliser. You may need to spray bug and weed repelant. Basicly you need to keep doing good to the seedling. The weeds and the bugs however, don’t need any help from you. They will come and come in full strength.
7) We Can’t do Anything About Last Year’s Harvest, But We Can About This Year’s
We will make mistakes. We may have not taken good care of our appletrees, and they produces apples filled with worms. The worms are already in the apples. No changing that. The only thing we can do now, is learn from what we did wrongly, and make we take better care of the apples next season.
What am I gettting at? Recently this Law has been hitting me, and hitting me hard. I am begining to see the fruits of my harvest. The bible is clear.
Galatians 6:7-8 : Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature[a]will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.
I am now reaping the things I have sowed for years. Some good, some bad, I reap them both. I can see clearly now, the things I have sowed. What does that leave me? Learn from my miskates, keep the good seeds, and continue to sow them. Throw away the bad ones, for I have had my fill of bad apples….

Nice ones. Are you living them accordingly?

Life is filled with choices. Many of them are inconsequential, almost meaningless..
“Depart from evil and do good so you shall abide forever.”
- Psalm 37:27
admin : I dissagree that any choice we make is inconsequential or meaningless. Say you decided to drink a Can of coke instead of water, but your friend didn’t. Turns out the water wasn’t boiled, and she now has food poisioning, but you dont. All because you make 1 desission. A small, yes, but meaningless? I don’ think so.Â

My apologies..
What do I mean by many of choices are inconsequential, almost meaningless: What kind of soap should I buy this week?
Others are more important: Should I get married or not to this person?
Nevertheless, all choices involve some sacrifice.
If I choose this road, I must forget about these possibilities. Every choice is also a loss.
Sometimes we must learn to acknowledge and move beyond these losses.
Thanks.
