This conversation happend like 8 years ago, while I was working in the Petrol Retail Industry. I had to attend a training session in Caltex Malaysia, and during the event I met this Malay man. Bellow was the actual conversation.
Man : Hai, Saya Kamal. Kamu?
Me : Hai, Nama saya Nick.
Man : Ah, Dari mana Nick? Trenganu ke? Kelantan ke?
Me : Dari Johor.
Man : Oh, Johor pun ada Nick ?
Me : Mana mana pun ada Nick kan?
Man : So you Nick apa? Nik Ahmad ke? Nik Aziz Ke?
Me : Sorry, Saya Nick Tay.

i find this really funny coz I have one Laksamanian Chinese best friend.. we went out together.. she wore my baju kurung and i wore jeans and shirt.. people thought she was malay and myself chinese.. and from that day onwards I call her wei Melayu and she would answer Ya, Cina.. hehehehe.. my grandma is a singaporean chinese.. that’s where i got my chinese looks…
