She smiled at me and said hello…
March 28th, 2006 by Nick Tay
…as she entered the prayer meeting on Wenesday, I smiled back, and I too said “Hi”, well I think I did. I can’t be too sure now. I get nervous sometimes, and I tend to forget how to behave politely in public. I thought nothing of it, erased the event from my mind. Then on Saturday, a repeat of the same drama. This time she smiled, said “Hello”, and she waved a little wave. Again I froze. I think I waved back. I was carrying a huge baby Nate, all 12.5 kg’s of him, and I guess I would have been forgiven if I didn’t wave back. I asked somebody her name once, just so that I could say “Hi there, X”, but she has one of those really hard to remember chinese names. I used to be good at names. I remember a time where I remembered almost everybody who came to youth church’s name. Those days are long gone, as I find it hard to recall any names these days. I’ll ask somebody else her name again next Saturday, and hopefuly this time it will register in my head.
And that ladies and gentlement is the extent of my social life. Its so pathetic that I get excited when somebody I don’t already know smiles and waves at me at church. Haha. Drama man. Yes, I need to get to know more adults.
