Give them encouragement but please be real…

Yes, this is another American Idol post. People please! You need to at least have SOME talent before you go for an audition! I am at awe by how many people actually think they are the BOMB! I mean, I do believe you need to maintain a positive outlook in life. If you spend all your days thinking you’re a looser, my friend a looser is what you’re most likely to be. You need to have confidence and a surround yourself with positive thoughts. This being said, you should also have people critic you, people who are honest enough to hurt you! Its so much better for your friends and family to break your heart then have Simon tell you how terrible you are on live TV. I think if my kid was going to audition for American Idol, I’d make sure he or she actually had talent. If it was his/her dream to be a performer, I would encourage him to join a choir, give him/her vocal training classes, at least give my offspring some home. I worry about some of these parents. They keep giving their children flattery instead of encouragement and praise. The former is excessive or insincere praise, telling your kid she is the best singer in the world, when the child can’t even hold a note.
Having said that, what’s up with that Zachary dude? He had a girl’s hair cut, wore a girl’s top, had a girl’s belt on, and wore high heels. And he sang “Queen of the Night†by Whitney and he was complaining why so many people think he is a girl? Hmmm

Talking about American Idol, I prefer the other Zach, 17-year-old, who sang “In the mood for love” on yesterday’s show. Like what Simon said, he’s charming. I think he’s got a good voice. Unique. I checked the AI forum and it seems everyone is crazy over David “Frank Sinatra” and Ace Young (the one who sang Westlife’s song).

Hey give me Zachary Smits anytime! He carried “In the mood of love” very well - Charming as Cowell said. I might be biased - it’s a jazz tune
