Of Frozen Jeans…

Sunday is laundry day, and as I have been doing each Sunday before this for the last month or so, I would gather all my clothing and bring them down to Jonathan and Tan’s apartment. There I will load them into the trusty front load Alba washing machine and select the wash and spin-dry cycle. I waited the 2 hours required for the washing to be done, spent them by watching some TV and going to the supermarket and buying groceries to cook pasta. When the clothes were ready, I brought them back to my apartment and hanged them to dry in the balcony. You see my balcony has a glass enclosure, so though the temperature is -15 outdoors in the day time, the temperature in my balcony is above 0. I hung them to dry, and was going to take them indoors before the sun went down. Then I began to feel feverish, and became very sick. So sick, that all I did next was sleep and sleep. I got up this morning and then I realized I had left my clothing outside! Oh no! I quickly went to the balcony and checked the temperature on the thermometer hanging there. -5 was the temperature on the balcony. I quickly attendant to my clothing, most of which were dry but very cold. I then reached my Jeans, which was, solid. Yes, it was hard as rock! So was one of my pairs of shorts. I quickly took them down and brought them to the bathroom. Filled the bathroom with steam to defrost my trusted denim pants, and within minutes they were soft again. I decided to leave them in the bathroom hanging for today. Hopefully tonight they will be dry.
