Negative 5 and I am still alive….

September 20th, 2005 by Nick Tay

I got up this morning, wore my newly bought winter jacket, and went to wait for my driver to arrive. As I looked out the door I noticed what I thought was a miracle. I saw a bird walk on water! Yes, the little birdie not only stood but walked across the puddle in front of the hotel. I quickly went outside to try and take a picture of the miracle, not before I saw a dog perform the same thing. Yup a stray mutt came, chased the birdie away and stood on the water as well. Its about this time I realized the truth. The puddle was frozen over. As I arrived with my camera, the dog ran away too, I tried to step on the ice, but it cracked under my weight! What a sign! Haha..

Well, checked the weather and it was officially -5. I guess because there was no wind blowing, it didn’t feel as cold as it did that day when it was only 2 degrees. I checked my new favorite weather site called “weather underground” which provides me with updated every 30 minutes, with a rss feed. Is that cool or what? If your interested, the feed is here. Apparently its Negative 3 now.

Here is a phenomenon I noticed while walking home yesterday. The streets were filled with drunken young Mongolian men. Yes, I saw 6 drunk men, being walked home by what appears to be their best friends. They were so wasted they could not walk straight at all! And it was only 8:30pm. The night has just began! I also saw several patched of puke on the road (Thank me for not taking pictures of it). And then the brilliant detective reflector put one and one together! These were ex-boyfriends of the various girls who got married today! It was clear to me! They were drinking away the memories of broken hearts and failed relationships. Cher up boys! Plenty more fish in the sea.

Oh! Oh! Updates! I bought myself a “Kiss Me, I’m Mongolian” T-Shirt! hehe. Yes, I went to the Mongolian BBQ yesterday with Juul, and decided I could not leave Mongolia without one. Haha.

On this day in History..
