A train ride like any other…

June 21st, 2005 by Nick Tay

I got up early, still tired from my long week, but unable to sleep any longer, i got dressed and proceed on my daily journey. The train was already 70% full by the time I boarded and was expecting the journey to be more or like any other day. I turned on the radio function on my phone, and laughed away as the DJ’s on TracksFM chatters away about the sorry state of Malaysian sports, and then it happend. At the Taman Jaya station, a couple, a White Male in this Late Forties and his Asian Wife in her Mid 30’s boarded the train and stood right in front of me, bought chatting away in thier assuie accents. The mans hand accidently bumped into mine, and he quickly apoligized and started a conversation, “Is it like this every moring?”. I gently turned off the radio and started to explain to him the Peak hours in Malaysian Public transoprt. The conversation continued and we chatted on many topics from my line of work, the winters in Canada, and which countries in Asia they should visit. I convinced them that Vietnam rocks and should be next on thier list of places to visit. The nice couple were going to KLCC to walk the sky bridge. It was a nice break from my regular routine I must say.

On this day in History..
