What a weekend!

December 21st, 2003 by Nick Tay

Allot has happend this weekend, mostly good, some bad, but every incident with its own leason to learn. Lets see, where can I begin my story? I know….fade in….Imagine KLIA on a busy Saturday Evening. Flight MH 753/VN 752 has arrived. Suddently the camera changes focus and you see this Handsome chindian man, standing at the baggage reclaim area, belt J, waiting patienly for his Samonite Bag (actually on loan from Sean). Most of the people have received thier bags, and our hero eyes every bag that apears from behind the mysterious black rubber curtians.

Suddenly, he sees it, and he is filled with excitement and joy, but wait, something is not quite right. The side lock to his beautiful bag was broken and the bag was actually open with some tape holding it together. YES ladies and gentlement, they broke my bag. Quickly I opened it to make sure things were all okay, and everything was where it suppose to be. A nice chinese lady told me that you can claim the damage, so quickly I rushed to the Lost & Found / Complaints room, filled in a form, and was told that somebody will collect my bag from my office to fix it. Not exactly satisfied, but rushing to get to my church in time to get to church to watch “Fields Of Mercy”, I smiled and thanked the Lady.

The train ride to the city was incident free, and I quickly got a cab from KL Sentral to my church, where I got a few minor stuff done, and Sat down nicely in the front row to watch the musical drama. Now, I may be from GT, but that not the reason I am giving this production two thumbs way way up. (I am also giving them two knees and and elbow) The plot behind the story was really well written, the actors convincing and I must admit I cried at least 2 times. It was that touching.

You can see the pictures of the play at my Photo Album under “Fields Of Mercy”.

After the musical, Hwee Yen, Christine and Me just sat there singing christmas carols, trying our very best to harmonize. The funny part is that we all had different versions of lyrics to the songs…Hahaha…Falalalalalalalalalalala.

Exit, Stage right, Enter Sunday. The day started as usuall. I got up early, went to church, and My senior Pastor, preached on Joseph, the man behind the Christmas Day which many people forget. It was a good message, as he spoke how Joseph obeyed God, even though plans he made did not go the way he wanted.

After church had lunch with my friends and here is where the action part starts. I was driving back and suddently this Kancil guy signals to me that there was something wrong with my tire. So I stopped, and lo and behold, I had a flat tire. I quickly open the boot of my car, and took out the spare and my jack. And then the fun parts begin. My jack did not have a handle!! Arghh…So I had to use a bolt! Yes, a bolt! It took me like 15 minutes to jack it up, then as I reached for the wrench, to my joy and delight, It was the wrong size!! Yes the wrong Size!! My car uses 21 inch nuts while my wrench was for 19 inch nuts. Defeated I called for help, and my friend Danny Tan was the only one close enough. So Danny came to the rescue. He arrived open the trunk of his car and discovered that he did not have a wrench. Hahaha…He also discovered that the security bolt for his car was missing. Finally I called my car insurance company hotline, cos they have like an emegercency hotline. The machanic came with his wrench and we were on our way.

I later went and bought a new wrench and fix my tired. What a weekend.

On this day in History..
