Today is Elvis Day

What a day so far, this morning I saw a sight that scared me. Tried to take a picture of it, but my Pajero Cab was moving alittle to fast. There was this dude on a bicycle with a cage full of puppies. And these mutts don’t look like they were being sold as pets, but as food! They were so cute, but the thot of them ending up in somebody’s Dog Kut Teh dish kinda made me uneasy. Hmmm.

Anyways, today is Elvis day. Yes, Star world tonight is showing a musical special called “Elvis Lives” staring such acts like No Doubt, Chris Issac, Dave Mattews, Norah Jones, Leanne Ryhmes and many others singing and playing tribute to the King Of Rock and Roll.

I like Elvis. Allot. Why? You see my Mom past away when I was very young, like 6 years old. And when I was 12-13 I went on a great personal quest to find out more about her. I asked my dad all sorts of questions, I went through her personal stuff, and most importantly I started listing to my mom’s musical choices.

My mom had a few collections that she totally loves. One of which was Nana Mouskouri, a greek singer, and of course there was ELVIS. My mom, had like a complete collection of his works from the Skinny elvis album, to the Fat elvis album. I listen to all those songs and loved them. In fact even my two aunts loved Elvis allot, so they did contribute to my love for Elvis.

I found that allot of tastes reflect my early search for all things relating to my mom. My mom was gonna be a Nun before she married my dad, and so Sound of Music is like my all time favourite movie. Watched it like over 1000 times. I even have the VCD at home, and once in a while I watch it.

Anyhoo, thats just me :)
